Sometimes as individuals, we forget that self-care is a cornerstone of our lives. One of the most common misconceptions about seeking therapy as a treatment is having "serious issues." For some, talking to a stranger about everyday struggles may come across as a sign of weakness; in fact, It is a sign of true strength that many people have a hard time seeing.
As a therapist, I operate a person-centered approach, which focuses on your aspirations and is tailored to your unique circumstances to provide a compassionate, safe, and healthy environment to facilitate comfortability and self-exploration.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, teens, parents, adults, and families dealing with a wide range of diagnoses such as depression, anxiety disorders, postpartum, ADHD, autism, schizophrenia, relationship issues, attachment issues, abandonment issues, self-esteem, bullying, crisis, and trauma. When adhering to myself as a therapist, I am understanding & monotone. I adhere to a worldview that consists of maintaining a body language that is seen as calm and relaxing. In terms of strengths with diagnoses, I have worked with many bipolar, major depressive, schizophrenic and schizoaffective clients. The strengths adhere to being able to adhere to cognitive behavioral therapy. Another strength would be being able to come up with crisis plans, knowing what symptoms to adhere to and knowing triggers. As I’ve worked with the mental health population for more than 4 years, I can recognize when a client is on the verge of being hospitalized. Another strength is being able to have technological skills due to some clients not being able to adhere to updated technology.

As a therapist I follow a Person-Centered Approach to counseling. I believe the best treatment plans are those created tailored to each individual client's needs. Similarly in group therapy I believe each group is different and each group experience should be tailored to what the specific group needs. I pride myself on being versatile and able to work with any and all cultures and ethnic groups. Each client presents different ideologies, different beliefs, different problems, different mental states, and differing experiences; to properly counsel or help a client you have to meet them where they are at and create an effective plan according to their needs and wants. This requires flexibility and a non-rigid mindset to properly counsel each client and using different tools and techniques dependent on the client's specific situation and temperament.

My passion and commitment to supporting individuals on their healing journey stems from my eight years of working with adolescents on their post-secondary trajectories. As a college and career counselor, my primary focus was to ensure students could access post-secondary education while feeling empowered to navigate what they identified as a successful life. This experience guided me to currently pursue a Master’s program specializing in Mental Health Counseling. As a Mental Health Counselor, I aim to provide my clients with a warm and safe space by incorporating different client-centered and holistic therapeutic approaches. These include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I am dedicated to providing a supportive, understanding, and non-judgemental therapeutic alliance, centered on the growth and development of the individual

I am grateful to be able to work in mental health services! I strive to ensure my clients feel heard and feel comfortable speaking to me. I will work hard to make sure my clients feel empowered and help them meet their short- and long-term goals throughout the course of therapy. There are a lot of ups and downs that we experience as we journey through this thing called life.  Sometimes this journey can become very overwhelming, taking us through periods of great joy and terrible sadness.  It is common to feel alone, not knowing where to turn or what to do. Everyone deserves to feel supported, validated, listened to, and safe to express the good and not-so-good times that come with this beautiful ride of life.  As your counselor, my goal is to do just that.  I will work to create a safe space without judgment for you to acknowledge, learn, express, and work through your feelings.I have experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults within the BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities. Through the use of MCBT, CBT, SFBT, and the person-centered approach, we will work together to develop a higher self-awareness and coping mechanisms that can act as tools when the going gets tough. Congratulations on taking this step. Self-development and growth are rewarding processes that take time. I would be happy to collaborate and support you through this journey.

So when I decided that I wanted to become a doctor but after chemistry class, I decided to reevaluate my decision. I still wanted to help people and be a part of the health field and after taking Psychology 101 in my first year of college I decided that I want to become a Mental Health Counselor. Also being a part of the South Asian community mental health and therapy are rarely discussed. I wish to bring attention to the importance of discussing the mental health and well-being of a person. I am here for the clients and I will try to help the client achieve the goal they set out for themself.
