Sometimes as individuals, we forget that self-care is a cornerstone of our lives. One of the most common misconceptions about seeking therapy as a treatment is having "serious issues." For some, talking to a stranger about everyday struggles may come across as a sign of weakness; in fact, It is a sign of true strength that many people have a hard time seeing.

I received my Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and hold a certificate in victimology studies. I have worked closely with survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence as well as victims of aggravated assault. I have experience working with clients of all different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, gender identity, sexual orientation, and religious affiliations. I specialize in Depression, PTSD, Psychosis, and Substance Use. I believe empathy is the key to successful therapy and everything I do is guided by that. While the way I work with my clients varies due to every person’s individuality and needs, my approach is one that is always client-centered, empathetic, caring, and absent of judgment.

You are not alone. Whether you are currently experiencing a loss, or coping with a loss from your past. We often feel unprepared for how a significant loss impacts our lives. Counseling can help you find your path toward healing that’s right for you. I can help you regain a sense of peace in your life. Therefore, you will be able to explore your feelings and emotions in a safe, non-judgmental space through therapeutic intervention. I understand veteran issues as well being a military veteran myself. Some of the methods we can use in therapy are CBT, Mindfulness, and DBT to name a few. We will work together to integrate your experience with grief into a learning experience that allows you to cope and move forward with a sense of peace. I would be honored to assist you on your healing journey. My goal is to assist you with your journey to find inner peace.
