  • Where are you located?
    Footprints services are available to clients living in New York, Florida, Connecticut, and New Jersey, All of our services are currently virtual due to until further notice.
  • Are you accepting new clients?
    Yes, please contact our Intake department for further information info@footprintstofeelbetter.com
  • When will in-person sessions be offered?
    At this time, we do not have a reopening date scheduled. Once it has been determined our website will be updated to reflect that. For now, all services are offered virtually.
  • How long is the intake process?
    The intake process takes about 5 minutes to complete. If you are completing an intake form for couples or family therapy it can take up to 10-15 minutes to complete.
  • Do you offer psychiatry?
    At this time, we do not offer this type of service. We do have a list of providers that we can refer you to.
  • What issues do you treat?
    Our providers have a wide range of expertise. Our Intake coordinators will work to make sure you are matched with a provider that has experience with the issues you are looking to address. We also have a diverse referral network, so if for any reason, Footprints cannot provide the appropriate care for your needs, we can refer you to another provider.
  • I signed up, how long will it take to be matched with a therapist?
    After your intake is completed, we will send you documents through our secured client portal. Once these are completed it should take 1-2 weeks to get you paired with one of our providers. Please note that pairing with a therapist is based off of your availability and preferences.
  • How long is a session?
    53-60 minutes
  • Can I request to work with a specific provider?
    Yes, you are able to request a specific provider upon intake, but it’s not guaranteed that we are able to pair you due to availability. We will always ask for your preferences (age, race, gender and ethnicity) as our goal is to make you comfortable and the connection process easier for you in event we are unable to pair you with your therapist of choice.
  • How do I start seeing a therapist?
    The first step to seeing one of our therapist is calling in to complete an intake form with one of our coordinators. This form can either be completed over the phone or be sent via email. Once the intake form is completed we will send over documents to be filled out through our portal. You'll be able to be paired with a provider once this is completed.
  • Am I allowed to switch to another therapist?
    Yes, you are able to switch your provider. We recommend that you try the provider you are paired with for at least 3 sessions, as the first session is intake and the next 2 sessions are where you begin to get to know each other. If after 3 sessions you decide that it isn't a mutual fit then you will be reassigned. Reassignment can take 1-2 weeks based on your preferences and availability.
  • I’m on the waitlist, but I need care now. What can I do?
    If you’re in need of immediate care while on Footprints waitlist, please dial 9-1-1 or visit your nearest emergency room. Please seek emergency care if needed. Footprints cannot provide support for emergency situations.
  • If there’s a waitlist, why should I sign up?
    By signing up with us, we can complete all the necessary paperwork to get you care as soon as possible. This includes the initial assessment questionnaire, as well as insurance benefits verification (if you want to use insurance). With all the pre-work completed, you'll be able to start care as soon as the right provider is available.
  • If my insurance expires, what can I do?
    Most insurances usually renew annually, but you also contact your insurance for more information.
  • Is the client responsible for knowing the benefits of their insurance?
    Clients are responsible for knowing benefits . Insurance providers usually send packets to clients with info on insurance coverage, benefits, copays, etc. Clients must inform our billing department of expired insurance or changes with insurance in order to avoid billing issues.
  • What insurance plans do you accept?
    We are currently in-network with multiple insurance plans
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Please remember to cancel or reschedule 48 hours in advance. You will be responsible for a $50 cancellation if you do not notify us within the 48 hours (except Medicaid patients – Medicaid clients will not be charged a fee). However, excessive absences may result in a reassignment. You will also be responsible for any sessions that are billed to your insurance and not covered by insurance due to inactive status, deductibles, lack of mental health coverage. You will be responsible for any copayments stipulated by your insurance, and it is your responsibility to know what those copayments are. The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 53-60 minutes. If you choose to terminate a session early, you are still responsible for the fee of that session
  • Do you offer subscription packages?
    Yes, we currently have 3 subscription packages available ranging from $180-$420 a month.
  • When are copays charged?
    Copays are usually charged 24-48 hours after the session happens
  • What are your copays like?
    Co-pays for our services range based on your coverage.
  • What is the cost per session?
    Footprints is in-network with multiple insurance plans, so most of our clients pay only a small co-pay fee. For those paying out of pocket, here are the ranges for our services: Individual: $95 Couples/Family Therapy: $125 Group: $125
